A status yellow rainfall warning remains in place this morning, with forecaster Met Éireann warning that there will be spells of heavy rain at times.
The warning is in place for Cork and Kerry until 9am on Wednesday morning.
The rain will be accompanied by strong onshore winds and high tides.
Met Éireann list the potential impacts as localised flooding and wave overtopping.

It comes as Cork City Council has advised that there is a period of very high astronomical Spring Tides continuing until Wednesday evening.
During each of the high tides Cork city centre is expected to experience flooding of the roads across the low-lying city quays.
Hight tide this morning was at 06:50 and will occur again at 17:07.
On Wednesday, high tide is at 07:32 and 19:48.
Flooding is expected to occur in the low-lying areas of the city centre that such as: Morrison’s Quay; Fr. Mathew Quay; Fr. Mathew Street; Union Quay; Trinity Bridge; South Terrace; Rutland Street; Sawmill Street; Crosses Green; Sharman Crawford St; Wandesford Quay; and South Mall (particularly the southern side).
In addition, road flooding will also likely occur on Kyrls Quay; Lavitts Quay; Lapps Quay; Proby’s Quay; French’s Quay; and Sullivan’s Quay.
