Two men arrested after Cork drug seizure to appear before court today
The two men were arrested following the seizures of 546kg of crystal meth.
Two men arrested last week following a large drug seizure are due to appear in court today in Kerry.
The Joint Operation between Gardaí and Revenue's Customs Service in Cork and Kerry saw the seizure of 546kg of a synthetic drug, believed by gardaí to be crystal meth, at the Port of Cork last Friday.
The two detained men, both of whom are Irish nationals, were held at Garda stations in the southern region since their arrest under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
A Garda spokesperson told The Echo this morning, “The two men, both aged in their 40s, arrested as part of this investigation have been charged and are expected to appear before a special sitting of Tralee District Court today, Friday 23rd February 2024, at approximately 1.30pm.”
