Students from Cork and Kilkenny killed in Limerick road crash
According to a Garda statement, the single vehicle collision happened on the N69 at Ballyengland, Co. Limerick on Tuesday evening, at approximately 7.25pm.
A student from Cork was one of two fatalities in a car crash in Askeaton, Co. Limerick, on Tuesday night and one of two others injured in the incident also hailed from County Cork.
While the names of the victims of the crash have yet to be released, Mr. Derek O’Donoghue, the Principal of the Salesian Agricultural College in Pallaskenry, confirmed that one of those fatally injured hailed from Cork.
The other person killed in the accident was from Co. Kilkenny.
Both were second-year students at the college.

It was a single vehicle collision in which a car collided with a wall.
Two passengers, a man in his 20s and a man in his late teens, were fatally injured. The driver and another passenger, both in their late teens, are receiving treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
The bodies of the deceased were removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick where post mortem examinations were due to take place.
The road remained closed on Wednesday morning and local diversions were in place. A technical examination was due to be carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them and asking any road users travelling in the area at the time who might have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, to make it available to Gardaí.
