Uisce Éireann is working to restore water supply to approximately 200 homes in Mitchelstown following a burst watermain.

The water utility company, formerly known as Irish Water, said the affected properties are along Mulberry Rd in the North Cork town.

In an update this evening, Uisce Éireann said repairs are due to be carried out tomorrow morning from 6am.

It is anticipated that repairs should be completed by tomorrow afternoon.

Speaking about the unplanned outage, Uisce Éireann’s, Cormac Bergin said:

“We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we would like to thank impacted customers in the area for their patience while we work to restore the water supply as quickly as possible.

“We regret any inconvenience as a result of this issue.” 

Customers are advised that it typically takes two to three hours following the estimated restoration time for normal water supply to fully restore to all areas.
