Cork woman admits possessing over €13k of cannabis for sale or supply

A WOMAN facing the prospect of trial by judge and jury on drugs charges, including having in excess of €13,000 worth of cannabis for supply at her home, has pleaded guilty to all seven charges against her.

Charlene Crowley, aged 41, of 44 Fairfield Meadows, Upper Fairhill, appeared at Cork District Court, where she was represented by solicitor Shane Collins-Daly.

The solicitor indicated that Ms Crowley was signing pleas of guilty to all of the charges against her. 

Judge Mary Dorgan then sent the case forward for sentencing at the sessions of Cork Circuit Criminal Court, commencing on January 29.

Detective Garda Dermot Crowley charged the defendant previously with all seven counts.

The most serious of the counts is one of having in excess of €13,000 worth of cannabis for sale or supply, as this offence carries a minimum jail term of 10 years, unless there are exceptional circumstances. That charge relates to October 21, 2022, as do the other six charges of having cocaine and cannabis and of having each drug for sale or supply, the money-laundering of €755 cash, and allowing her home to be used for the preparation of drugs.

So far, no details have been given in court on the background circumstances that gave rise to these charges being brought against Ms Crowley.
