A man has been taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) following an incident in Ballincollig this morning.
A man has been taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) following an incident in Ballincollig this morning.
The man, aged in his 40s, was struck by a car at a car park in the town shortly before 7.30am.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene and the man was conveyed to CUH for treatment of his injuries.
A Gard spokesperson told :
"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of an incident where a pedestrian was struck by a car, which occurred on the grounds of a car park in Ballincollig, Co. Cork this morning, Monday 8th January 2024 at approximately 7.20am.
"A male (40’s) was conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
"Investigations are ongoing."
Emergency services are at the scene of a road traffic collision in Ballincollig this morning.
The incident occurred at the west end of Ballincollig at a busy junction.
It is understood the incident involves a pedestrian.
Motorists are advised to take care on approach to the area.
A Gard spokesperson said this morning: "Gardaí are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision which occurred at Ballincollig, Co. Cork this morning, Monday 8th January 2024. Investigations are ongoing. No further details are available at this time."
