Defendant was charged with getting into an O'Flynn's Gourmet Sausage van and damaging it.
A YOUNG man was arrested at two o’clock in the morning and charged with getting into an O’Flynn’s Gourmet Sausage Company van parked at Redemption Road in Cork and damaging it.
Garda Denis O’Sullivan said gardaí were objecting to bail being granted to Evan O’Leary of Churchfield Terrace East.
The 28-year-old was charged with counts of getting into the van and causing damage to the cowling and wiring of the vehicle on December 22.
Garda O’Sullivan said,
Evan O’Leary told Judge Mary Dorgan, “I was meant to go into treatment before Christmas but I had a relapse. I just got these two charges and regret them.”
“The guards said you are on drugs,” Judge Dorgan said. Evan O’Leary replied, “No, I had a slip. I am on methadone.”
The judge refused bail and remanded him in custody to a remand sitting of Cork District Court over the holiday period on December 27.
