Man who failed to pay for €42 worth of petrol at Cork service station jailed
22-year-old Timmy O’Reilly of bay 1 Williamstown Way, Airport Road, Waterford, pleaded guilty to the petrol theft at Maxol on Glanmire Road, Cork, on April 6 2023.
A motorist who said he forgot his wallet promised garage staff he would return to pay for €42 worth of petrol but he never did and now he has been jailed for three months.
That was the sentence imposed by Judge Mary Dorgan at Cork District Court.

Defence solicitor, Killian McCarthy, said it was the young man’s intention to pay but that he received bad news in relation to the health of a relative and was overtaken by events to that extent and he failed to return to pay for the petrol.
