Garda enquiries ongoing following reports of shots fired in residential area of Cork’s northside

Garda enquiries are ongoing following reports of shots fired at a residential area on the northside of the city earlier this evening.

A Garda spokesperson told The Echo that Gardaí at the Watercourse Road station in Blackpool were alerted just after 5.30pm to reports of shots fired in the Ballyvolane area.

“Gardaí at Watercourse Road were alerted shortly after 5:30pm this evening following reports of shots fired at a residential area in the Ballyvolane area of Cork city,” they said.

“There was no reports of any injuries and enquiries into the matter are ongoing.”
