A garda investigation is underway into the circumstances of the death of a woman in a residential facility in Cork during the Covid pandemic.

The woman died in February of 2021.

A garda spokesperson confirmed to the Echo that an investigation is ongoing but said that no further comment is available at this time.

"Gardaí are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a female in a residential facility in Cork in February 2021.

“As this is an ongoing criminal investigation An Garda Síochána has no further comment at this time,” the spokesperson said.
