Gurranabraher Credit Union have agreed a major sponsorship deal with Brunell Ladies Basketball Club.

The three-year sponsorship deal will cover the club’s Super League, U20, and U18 teams.

“Brunell are a northside club based out of the newly named Gurranabraher Credit Union Arena Parochial Hall, they have been one of the most successful clubs at underage level in the country.

“Gurranabraher Credit Union are delighted to partner with Brunell to bring this success to their Super League team,” Michael O’Connell, Chairperson of Gurranabraher Credit Union said.

“The credit union is this year celebrating our 60th anniversary of service to the community of Gurranabraher and surrounding areas.

“A very important part of what we do is supporting various community groups and sports clubs in our area. Basketball is a very strong and important sport in our community, and we are delighted to be teaming up with Brunell for the next three years and look forward to the club bringing more success to the northside of the city,” Mr O’Connell added.

Kevin Harris, Brunell Basketball chairman said the club wished to thank Gurranabraher Credit Union and Mr O’Connell “for the support they have shown our Super League team along with our U20 and U18 teams”.

“It is great to have a deal for the next three years which allows us as a club to plan for the future and not only this season.

“We look forward to a successful season working together to not only progress our national competition teams but also increase the profile of Brunell Ladies Basketball Club across our community,” he added.

“When you look at the sponsorship Gurranabraher Credit Union have provided to the northside community for the last number of years, we as a club based in the northside can’t thank them enough for the support provided to us for the next three years,” Brunell treasurer Jason Thornton said.

“As one of many clubs they support we think it is a testament to Gurranabraher Credit Union when you see Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell playing in the Women’s Super League out of Gurranabraher Credit Union Arena Parochial Hall. This shows their support across the entire community.”
