LEGENDARY rugby player Peter Stringer found his inner Ricky Martin when he performed a passionate salsa on the opening week of Dancing with the Stars.

Stringer won high praise from the judges on the hit RTÉ show after shaking his hips with his partner Ksenia Zsikhotska to ‘Come with Me’.

Chatting about his routine, Peter said: “It felt very good, I was so excited to do it. This is the furthest thing I thought I would be doing, the support is unbelievable.”

Judge Julian Benson said: “You certainly pulled my strings tonight, it was full of salsa, you were like the Incredible hulk on the floor.”

Fellow judge Loraine Barry added: “We just need to get that body moving, it’s all about getting that music inside of you, you’ve got a great journey to travel with this.”

Stringer scored a 16 from the judges, the second-highest score of the night, behind Johnny Ward with 22 points.

With no eliminations for the first two weeks, and all 11 celebrities performing, this first episode saw the five male celebrities showcase their dancing skills as each one took to the dance floor with their professional dance partners.
