Togher drawn into South African election

Togher drawn into South African election
A spelling error on a General Election campaign billboard in South Africa has locals wondering what "Togher" is.

South Africa's General Election takes place on May 8th and the parties are making their voices heard as to why they should be elected. Current ruling party African National Congress (ANC) is no exception but have been left red-faced with spelling errors on some of their billboards across the country.

The latest error has now seen Togher become a part of the upcoming election with a billboard near Port Elizabeth reading, "let's grow South Africa Togher" next to an image of current President, Cyril Ramaphosa.

Spotted by a South African YouTuber Renaldo Gouws, it was then shared on Twitter where he has over 10,000 followers. While Togher is known all over Cork, those in South Africa were left wondering what a "Togher" might be, with one Tweet questioning if it were a type of fertilizer.
