National lottery searching for EuroMillions winner in Cork town

ONE lucky Cork person is celebrating a huge windfall today after claiming a win on the Euromillions.

It has been confirmed this afternoon that a €500,000 winning ticket for Tuesday's EuroMillions was sold in Fermoy

The winner claimed the EuroMillion Plus top prize with the numbers 5,7,9,29 and 5.

There was no winner of the EuroMillions main draw. The jackpot was €25.5m.

A spokesperson for the National Lottery said: "The National Lottery is appealing for its players in Co. Cork to check their tickets after a lucky ticketholder from the Rebel County has the top prize on last night’s EuroMillions Plus draw worth a cool €500,000. This comes as two EuroMillions Plus prizes, both won last Friday online, were claimed at National Lottery HQ in Dublin.

"The winning ticket was sold at Costcutter, Amber Service Station, Dublin Road, Fermoy, Co. Cork.

“The EuroMilions Plus game continues to be a boon for Irish players and this latest win in Fermoy, Co. Cork smashes the previous record set in 2017 – and we still have almost three weeks left of the year. We are calling on all everyone in Fermoy and its surrounding areas in Cork to check your tickets carefully and if you are this lucky ticketholder, please sign the back of the ticket, keep it safe and contact our prize claims team on 01 836 4444 and we will make arrangements for you to collect your cash prize”.
