Watch: Chris Walley to share the screen with major stars in new WWI film

At the helm of the new film is  Bond director Sam Mendes, who co-wrote the script with  Penny Dreadful writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns.

1917 centres on two British soldiers shown during the height of WWI in northern France and their attempt to deliver a message that would prevent 1,600 troops from walking into a trap.

The 24-year-old Young Offendersactor will star as Private Bullen in the new film which will hit cinemas on January 10.

The cast of 1917 also includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Firth and Richard Madden.

Filming began in April 2019 and wrapped two months later.

It was shot in predominantly in England and Scotland.
