Car goes up in flames in Carrigaline just off the N28

A car went up in flames while driving along the Cork Road, just off the N28, in Carrigaline.

Emergency services were called to Carrigaline this evening as a car went up in flames in traffic.

The car, which is suspected to have an electrical fault was attended by the Fire Brigade and the Gardaí at around 5pm.

The incident occurred along Cork road, between Shannon Park roundabout and West Avenue, just off the N28 (Ringaskiddy road).

One unit of the County Fire Brigade went to the incident and a tow truck was called to remove the vehicle from the middle of the road and take it to a garage.

No one was injured in the incident.
