A MAN in his 60s has died after being attacked by a bull on his farm in Charleville.
The 64 year old farmer was tending to a number of bulls in a shed at Tullylease near Charleville yesterday when the attack happened.
The emergency services were alerted after a neighbour found the man in an unresponsive state.
The farmer was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was taken to the morgue at Cork University Hospital.
A post-mortem will be carried out today.
The incident is being treated as a tragic accident.
A file will be prepared for the Coroners Court.
The Health and Safety Authority will also launch an investigation in to the incident.
Farming is the most hazardous business sector in Ireland with 18 fatalities recorded on Irish farms last year.
