Actress and comedian Norma Sheahan is set to humorously reveal how her life has changed since the outbreak of Covid-19 at a Cork webinar next week.

The Cok native known for her starring roles in comedy shows Bridget & Eamon, Moone Boy and Damo and Ivor will speak about the pressures that still exist despite us being “straight-jacketed” for the last number of weeks under government restrictions as part of Network Ireland Cork’ s live webinar.

Her relatable chat will cover the stresses of isolating with children, feeling swamped while also wondering if we should be doing more, and worries over weight gain.

Ms Sheahan said: “Despite our lives being straight-jacketed, we are still feeling swamped. Should we do homework or housework? Am I fit or am I fat? Flatten the curve, flatten my own curves. Reduce the kids’ screen time but they must Zoom all day long. I even allowed them to buy two guinea pigs yesterday.

“If we don't laugh, we will cry, so I am delighted to be asked by Network Ireland Cork to speak at their next webinar and provide some survival skills during these strange times.”

Ms Sheahan who is now filming short plays from her bathroom and recording podcasts from the boot of her car was touring her sellout stand-up show Heal your Hole with Norma Sheahan when the latest restrictions were announced, forcing the cancellation of the show, the title of which was inspired by her coach on Celebrity Ireland’s Fittest Family.

She smashed her coccyx during the first challenge and Donncha O’Callaghan roared, “Get up off your hole and get on with it”. She went on to win €10,000 for Cork ARC Cancer Support House.

Registration for the webinar is free for members and €15 for non-members with a percentage of the proceeds of ticket sales going to Cork ARC. The webinar will also feature a cocktail masterclass from Mags O'Connor of the Cornstore Restaurant and live music from singer Fiona Kennedy.

The Margheritas and Mayhem webinar will take place on Wednesday, May 6, from 8pm to 9pm. To register visit https://networkcork-webinar.eventbrite.ie.
