Person airlifted to Cork University Hospital after incident in Youghal

An investigation is underway into an incident in Cork on Sunday which left one person hospitalised.

The Echo understands that a person was injured following an incident at Youghal Community Hospital.

It is understood the person was airlifted to Cork University Hospital for treatment following the incident.

When asked for comment, a spokesperson for the HSE said:

“We can confirm that an incident has occurred at a HSE facility in Youghal and that the person has been transferred to hospital.

“An investigation into the incident is underway.” The Irish Community Rapid Response (ICRR) air ambulance was photographed landing in Youghal on Sunday afternoon.

When contacted for comment, Cork University Hospital said it does not comment on individual cases.
