Day 161 of the official picket of Debenhams stores by former workers. Mandate Union strike action.

TODAY marks the 161st day of the official picket of Debenhams stores by former workers from the Mandate trade union.

Former striking workers from Vita Cortex joined the picket on Thursday as the Debenhams dispute became the longest-running industrial dispute in Irish history.

The workers at Vita Cortex in Ballyphehane ended their marathon sit-in protest on May 24, 2012 after the workers finally started receiving redundancy payments.

The dispute lasted more than five months and garnered local, national and international attention.
