BREAKING: Dáil to resume as Cabinet members and Ronan Glynn restricting movements 

LATEST: The Dáil is set to return this evening, having been adjourned this afternoon. 

Members of the Cabinet and acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn are to restrict their movements, as they were in contact with Health Minister Stephen Donnelly.

Mr Donnelly began to feel unwell following Tuesday afternoons government briefing on the new Covid-19 roadmap and restrictions. He was advised to contact his GP and to self-isolate in the meantime. 

The led to the Ceann Comhairle adjourning the Dáil for one week, however it is now understood it will return this evening and junior ministers will take questions from Opposition.

Government sources said ministers would approach the issue with "an abundance of caution" until the test result of Mr Donnelly was known.

EARLIER: The entire Government cabinet, including Taoiseach Micheál Martin, is self-isolating due to fears of coronavirus. 

It is understood Health Minister Stephen Donnelly felt unwell following Tuesday afternoons government briefing on the new Covid-19 roadmap and restrictions.

Minister Donnelly was advised to contact his GP and to self-isolate in the meantime. 

As a result, the entire Cabinet has to self-isolate and the Dáil has been adjourned, the Ceann Comhairle has announced. 

Seán Ó Fearghaíl told the Dáil that after "very serious information arising out of events today the Cabinet must now self isolate".

As a result, the Dáil could not proceed with usual business and has been adjourned until next Tuesday. 

Mr Ó Fearghaíl said this can only change if Mr Martin directs him to reconvene. 

Minister for Climate Action, Communication Networks and Transport, Eamon Ryan, had already been restricting his movements, as a member of his household was awaiting a test for Covid-19.
