For 16 years, Cork man Hugh O’Brien has been celebrating his love for country music with a TV show called Hot Country TV.

Europe’s longest running country music TV show, it can be found on the Sky platform, and Hugh, from Silverheights Avenue, Cork, calls it “one of a kind”.

Now, he is set to launch a new show on December 1, called Cork TV.

Showcasing all things Cork, it will be found on Sky Channel 588 and Freeview Channel 279, free to air satellite, on Youtube, and at www.hotcountrytv.com, beamed straight into homes across Ireland, the UK and worldwide.

Hugh said “This is a fresh and exciting television programme which is about to put Cork on the map like never before.

“Cork TV, an hour-long show, will showcase the stories, people, places, and culture that make Cork unique - from local legends and emerging talent to stunning scenery, community spirit and much more. It promises to be a platform for the people of Cork.”

The programmes will be produced in conjunction with the London Irish Association, as well as the Corkman Association in Boston, New York and the UK, thereby creating a strong bridge between Cork and its vibrant diaspora communities abroad.

Hugh said: “By partnering with organisations in London, Boston and New York, we will be able to connect Corkonians everywhere to home, heritage, and heart.”

Innishannon native and Hot Country TV presenter Eilish O’Sullivan will be anchor of the new show. She said: “This isn’t just a show - it’s a platform for Cork to speak to the world.”

Hugh and Eilish ask individuals and communities to get in touch if they have events or stories they would like to see featured, by emailing corktv25@gmail.com or calling 087 6859895.
