Manchester United v Arsenal is among the TV games as Premier League returns

Can Arne Slot’s Liverpool successfully defend their Premier League title? Will challengers Arsenal and Manchester City seize control?

How about the threats from recently-crowned World Club Cup champions Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa?

Can Tottenham and Manchester United return to form after a dismal season? And will the promoted teams secure survival?

All those questions will be answered in the next nine months as a new Premier League campaign kicks off this weekend.

The champions got the ball rolling when they hosted Bournemouth last night, and today’s live action kicks off with Aston Villa v Newcastle United on TNT Sports 1 at 12.30pm.

Then it’s Tottenham v promoted Burnley on Premier Sports at 3pm.

The Monday match on Sky is newly-promoted Leeds United v Everton at 8pm, while next Friday, you can see a London derby between West Ham United and Chelsea at 8pm.

There is a live triple bill of Championship games on Sky today at 12.30pm - take your pick from Derby County v Coventry City, Portsmouth v Norwich City, and Wrexham v West Brom.

Ipswich Town v Southampton is on Sky tomorrow at noon.
