A COUPLE who met while working at UCC tied the knot recently.
Rose Lucey, from Kerry, and Terry Brennan, from Galway, live in Sallybrook, Glanmire.
The couple got engaged in Venice in November, 2022.
They were married in the Rochestown Park hotel on March 1, 2024, in a civil ceremony, by celebrant Brian Twomey.
The bride’s dress was a Maggie Sottero, her hair was by Donna from AND Hair & Co, Glanmire. Make-up was by the ‘The make-up Genie’, Karen Meehan.
Terry and Rose’s son had the same green tweed style suit from Suit Republic in Galway. The witnesses’ suits were check blue style also from the Suit Republic, with matching ties for all the men.
Among the guests were the bride’s parents, Mike and Eileen Lucey, and the bride and groom’s siblings and extended family.
They had two witnesses, Terry’s friend Patsy Ryan and Rose’s brother Mike Lucey.
Rose’s niece and nephew, Millie and Oscar Sheehan, were flower girl and page boy, along with ‘cool dude’ page boy Harry Brennan (aged 2), Terry and Rose’s son.
They had musician and singer John Spillane at the ceremony, who performed in his own unique style.
The reception continued at the Rochestown Park Hotel where the guests enjoyed a ‘Taste of Cork’ food and drinks reception from local businesses whilst enjoying the music of Jim O’Mahoney and entertainment by magician Gerard Kearney.
Instead of a wedding cake, they treated guests to Koko Chocolates from Kinsale. They also had an Irish and Scottish whiskey tasting table which was very well received in addition to a sweet kart.
The band, Carouse from Kilkenny, kept the floor filled. The bride and groom had their first dance to Extreme’s More Than Words - which the band learned especially for the day.
As to what was the most memorable thing about the day?
Rose said: “Having our family and friends together and the fantastic experience we had in the Rochestown Park Hotel.
They were amazing.
"Also, we do have to mention John Spillane - he really made our ceremony so special.
They continued the celebrations the next day at Hamish’s Bar in the Student Centre in UCC where the team put together a great afternoon with food, drinks and entertainment.
After a few days’ recovery, Mr and Mrs Brennan headed to Lanzarote on honeymoon.
