AN engagement in Tokyo last year led to the wedding of this couple, who live in Mallow.
Yuki Kato from Japan and Philip Hayes from Mallow met at college.
Philip Hayes, who hails from Mallow.
They were engaged in Tokyo, Japan, on January 31 last year.
They had a civil ceremony at a venue in Cork on February 25.

Yuki got her dress at Sharon Gregory Bridal in Mallow and hair was done by hairdresser Karen Murphy in Mallow.
Philip got his suit, shirt and shoes in IT Suits in Blackpool.

Philip’s mother and father and his two brothers were present at the ceremony, along with some of the couple’s closest friends.

The newlyweds had their wedding reception in Tung Sing Chinese restaurant in Blarney.

As to what was the most memorable thing about the day?
“We loved the photo shoot at Blarney Castle. Given that the weather was pretty miserable, our photographer Bernadette Hayes only kept us out in the cold for very short time and managed to take spectacular photos without us being dragged around in the rain.”
