The research was conducted by Coakley O’Neill Town Planning and looks at key potential development areas in the region, from the City, Docklands, Tivoli Docks, Ballincollig, Glanmire, Tower, Blarney, Carrigaline, Midleton, and Carrigtwohill. The findings of the report will be communicated at the summit.
“Greater co-ordination in local infrastructure delivery among the relevant public and private sector organisations must take place to ensure a coherent and cohesive approach to Cork Metropolitan Area’s development plan led infrastructure is essential for Cork’s ambitions and targets to align,” said Joanne Treacy, CIF Director Southern Region.
“The planning system needs greater resourcing, nationally, regionally and locally, to develop in line with population needs, infrastructural developments and best building practices. More timely and detailed data analytics and AI to monitor processes, review protocols and highlight issues impeding development would be hugely beneficial.”
