Cork businesswomen encouraged to apply for Going for Growth

Female entrepreneurs and established business owners from Cork, who are aiming to increase revenue, create employment, and explore new market opportunities, are being encouraged to submit their applications to the Going for Growth business development programme.

Going for Growth brings together female entrepreneurs for monthly peer-to-peer roundtable discussions, facilitated by successful businesswomen, known as Lead Entrepreneurs, whose participation is completely voluntary and is done in a spirit of altruism.

The programme is supported by Enterprise Ireland and KPMG and is free of charge for those selected to participate.

Sixty places are available for the new six-month cycle, which is due to begin with a one-day Launch Forum on January 14. The programme will run from January to June, with one round table session each month.

Past participants from Cork include Andrea Doolan of Atlantia Clinical Trials, a clinical research organisation that specialises in conducting ground breaking clinical trials for nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetic products, and medical devices.

Andrea, who was a participant on the 9th cycle of Going for Growth says: “I recognised I had gaps in my knowledge, and also in my network. Going for Growth filled these for me in a unique way – the sharing of experiences and perspectives, all of us in the same boat although running very different businesses – was eye opening”.

Lowry O’Mahony is the founder of MaxPhysio and Pilates, which first opened its doors in 2016 in Clonakilty and now has 5 studios across Cork (www.MaxPhysio.ie). Lowry completed the 16th cycle of Going for Growth.

She says: ““Going for a Growth is an incredible opportunity to develop and deepen your knowledge of business. It has inspired me to think about how my business can improve and lead in our space and also provided me with a network of fantastic female entrepreneurs. I would highly recommend it.”

National Director of Going for Growth, Paula Fitzsimons, said the programme has delivered “fantastic results” for participants.

“I would encourage all ambitious female entrepreneurs and owner/managers looking to increase revenue, create employment, and explore new market opportunities to submit their applications for the 18th cycle of Going for Growth before the deadline of Friday, November 21.”

Application forms can be requested from the website – www.goingforgrowth.com. Completed applications must be returned by midnight, November 21.
