Michaela: ‘I knew I wanted to share this gift and help others’

Michaela Repaska says sound bath therapy helps people to rest and deepens recovery, both mentally and emotionally.
The description of a sound bath as a practice that offers you space to nap without guilt sounds very appealing.
“When people come to a sound bath they often say, ‘I’m just here to relax’,” says Michaela Repaska.
“In our busy modern world, people are holding so much.
“Stress, grief, fatigue, or simply the feeling of being disconnected with themselves. They feel lost. What I offer is not a fix, but a space.”
What kind of space?
“A space where the nervous system can soften, where something ancient and true in the body can begin to breathe again.
“I hold space for the soul, wrapped in the physical body.”
Michaela says she believes healing doesn’t have to be complicated.
“When we are seen, when we feel safe, something begins to shift naturally. That’s what I hold space for and it’s my honour to do this work.
“When life feels overwhelming; when stress, burnout or anxiety take hold, the mind and body long for reset and remember the natural balance. A sound bath offers exactly that: an immersive journey of vibration and tone that quiets the mind, soothes the body and uplifts the spirit.”
How did Michaela come to do this work?
“I’m originally from Slovakia, a place where nature, simplicity, and deep intuition shaped my early life,” says Michaela.
“My path has never been conventional, but it has always been guided. Sometimes by the heart. Sometimes by life itself.”
Michaela was guided to Cork, finding more meaning in her life.
“My path into sound healing started in a deeply personal way,” says Michaela.
Her journey to Cork was also deeply personal.
“The first time I came to Cork, it was for love,” says Michaela.
“I had dreams of travelling to Iceland, but life took me a different direction. I followed my partner and arrived in Ireland instead. It became a second home for me, with its wild coastlines and gentle energy.
“Years later, after facing a serious health challenge in Slovakia, I had a deep inner call to return to Ireland, this time with my family.”
Michaela decided to let nature take its course.
“We arrived with no guarantees,” she says.
“Just rust and hope. No jobs, two children, a little dog, and a belief that life would open the right doors. It did. Slowly and in its own way.”
How did her healing journey begin?
“My healing journey began not in books, but in my body,” says Michaela, who describes herself as a divine healer, activator, and spiritual mystical guide.
“When I could barely walk, nature and spirit became my medicine. Over time, I started listening more deeply to my intuition, to the subtle guidance that came through feelings and knowing. From there, my work unfolded naturally.
“At first, I didn’t realise my voice could become my medicine. But through energy healing, my voice expanded. It became a channel for vibration, light and love in ways words never could,” says Michaela.
She felt sound touch something deep within her when she was guided to crystal bowls.
“The same place my voice had reached,” she says.
“I knew I wanted to share this gift, to help others experience the release, peace, and awakening that I had found.
“Today, I offer intuitive energy healing, sound baths, and vibrational activations, tuning chakras and energy.”
How do sound baths work?
“They work on many different levels,” explains Michaela.
“Physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The gentle resonant tones help release tension from the body, ease the mind out of overthinking, and create space for deep emotional healing.”
Each session is unique, she says.
“The sound meets you exactly where you are. Using crystal bowls, my voice and other instruments, I create waves of sound that flow through the whole body. These vibrations help the mind slow down, the muscles release, and the heart feel lighter.”
What do people see?
“Some people see colours,” says Michaela.
“Others feel energy moving through their body, and some receive answers to questions they’ve been carrying for years. And sometimes it is simply the peace of being still for the first time in a long while.”
Some people experience powerful moments at sound bath sessions.
“Often the most powerful moments are the simplest moments,” says Michaela. “When someone leaves saying, ‘I feel lighter. I can breathe again.”
She says sound baths are not about doing.
“They are about receiving,” she adds, “allowing yourself to rest, reset and remember who you truly are. For me, they are something bigger - a wave of spiritual awakening happening in the world right now. We are remembering our connection to ourselves, to each other, and to the source of all life.”
Michela also works part-time in Dervish shop in Cork city.
“There, I help people find crystals and tools that support them on their path,” she says.
“Often, what they’re really looking for is connection, comfort, or clarity, someone who listens and understands.”
Our modern world can often be stressful.
“Sound bath therapy, using crystal bowls, frees the energy gate and helps you rest and deepen recovery, both mentally and emotionally.”
The seven crystal bowls relate to different energy points along the spine called chakras. For example, at the base of the spine is the sacrum area which corresponds with the biggest bowl’s earthy vibrations.
“You are ‘bathed’ in waves of ambient sound,” says Michaela.
The general consensus is that the calming effect of sound baths alone can help you hit reset and feel more at ease and grounded. According to a 2017 study on Tibetan singing bowl meditation, sound meditation may produce mental and physical health benefits, namely reducing anxiety and depression, increasing spiritual wellbeing, and lowering blood pressure and heart rate.
Michaela makes her voice heard.
“Through my voice, the sound, and the power of love, my mission is simple; to create a space where your soul feels safe to come forward and where you leave feeling more like you.”
