Race recovery: Nourish your body after the Echo Women’s 5k Mini-Marathon

Inside the new Nourish, at Dunnes Stores, Patrick Street in Cork, in their new basement level food hall, which opened in August 2024.
Completing a race, especially a 5km run like the Echo Women’s Mini-Marathon, is no small feat. It’s important to support your body with the proper nutrients after such a physical challenge to ensure the best recovery. At Nourish, we offer a range of products to help you replenish, restore, and repair after crossing that finish line.
Electrolytes are excellent for rehydrating after sweating it out, helping to rebalance fluids and keep muscles functioning well. We recommend supplements like Viridian Electrolyte Fix Liquid or Doctor Martin’s Coconut Water, both of which offer easy and quick rehydration.
Magnesium is another key mineral for race recovery, as it helps to relax muscles, reduce cramping, and promote restful sleep. Try Mag365 or BetterYou Magnesium Oil Body Spray to support muscle repair and reduce post-race soreness.
Finally, don’t forget the power of protein! Post-race protein helps repair muscle fibres and rebuild strength. Our selection of plant-based protein powders, such as Nuzest or FemFuelz, can be blended into a nourishing smoothie to give your body the support it needs after a successful race.
Speak with our Patrick Street and Bishopstown Court teams about the different supplements to support fitness and recovery. Remember to consult your GP before starting a new supplement plan if you have a diagnosed condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding.
At Nourish, we recognise the incredible power of community. Each year the event raises over 1 million Euro, not only bringing people together for fitness but also to raise valuable funds for important causes. At Nourish, we have been supporting causes we care about for more than 35 years.

We proudly support Birdwatch Ireland, an organisation dedicated to the conservation of wild birds and their habitats across Ireland. Birdwatch Ireland works to protect biodiversity, and we feel strongly about preserving the natural world for future generations.
This year, one of our key sustainability initiatives is the Dunsany Tree Planting Project, where we have planted more than 5,000 trees with the goal of planting 20,000 trees to help restore biodiversity and promote carbon sequestration.
The trees in this vast Co. Meath estate will reconnect woodlands that had been separated in the past, bolster biodiversity through the expansion of ancient woodlands and create wild habitats where nature can thrive.
We are delighted to announce that Nourish is expanding, with a brand-new store opening soon in Cork at Dunnes Stores in Douglas Court. This store will be our third location in Cork.

As with our locations at Dunnes Stores, Patrick Street and Bishopstown Court, the new Douglas Court store will feature our wide range of health foods, supplements, natural beauty products, and eco-friendly household items.
Keep an eye on our social media channels for updates on the store opening, exclusive offers, and in-store tasting events. Or sign up for our newsletter at nourish.ie, where we share tips on living a healthy, balanced life, new product launches, and our sustainability initiatives.
