Daniel Kelly's goal gave Shelbourne a 1-0 win over St Patrick's Athletic in Friday's League of Ireland Premier Division action.

Unbeaten in three games now, and up to fifth, Shelbourne will hope this is actually a turning point in their season.

Stephen Kenny had urged St Pat’s supporters to take their seats early in Inchicore, having seen his side score five and concede six goals inside the opening 13 minutes of games this season.

But although the Saints brought the fight to Shelbourne early on, clear-cut opportunities to land a blow were limited on either side.

Waterford were held to a 2-2 draw with Derry City at the RSC.

Henry Rylah's last-minute equaliser saved a point for the Candystripes.

Elsewhere, Bohemians made it back-to-back wins with a 2-1 victory over Drogheda United.

Bohs ended their 63-day wait for a home win as they battled to a massive three points over bogey side Drogheda United thanks to two second half goals from Dayle Rooney and Pat Hickey, with Thomas Oluwa halving the deficit late on.

Meanwhile, Tyreke Wilson's goal saw Dundalk beat Shamrock Rovers 1-0, however he was sent off later on in the game.
