Shamrock Rovers remain top of the League of Ireland after a 3-1 win over Galway United.

Stephen Bradley's side took the lead after just two minutes through Michael Noonan, with their lead doubled through Adam Brennan in the 26th minute.

Galway United were given hope through Matty Wolfe's goal in the 48th minute, but the win was sealed for the champions through Tunmise Sobowale's goal in the 73rd minute.

Three points behind them is St Patrick's Athletic, who came from behind to defeat Waterford FC 3-1.

Waterford took the lead through John Mahon after just five minutes, who defended well until they gave away a penalty in the 43rd minute, which was scored by Chris Forrestor.

Zack Eibouzedi scored two goals in the space of four minutes to put Stephen Kenny's side 3-1 up after 61 minutes, and set up Ryan Edmondson for their fourth.

Bohemians are back to winning ways after defeating Dundalk 3-1.

Dundalk took the lead in the 34th minute with a goal from Aodh Dervin.

The Louth side were leading until the 50th minute, when Ross Tierney drew Bohemians level.

The game changed in the 67th minute, when Robert Cornwall was sent off for Dundalk as they conceded a penalty, which was converted by Douglas James-Taylor.

The win was confirmed when Zane Myres scored their third in added time.

A second-half Ryan Brennan penalty gave Drogheda United a 1-0 win over Derry City, while Sligo Rovers and Shelbourne played out a 0-0 draw.
