League of Ireland: Bohemians survive late scare to defeat Shamrock Rovers

Bohemians secured the bragging rights in the Dublin derby as they defeated Shamrock Rovers 3-2 at Dalymount Park.

Connor Parsons scored the opener after 26 minutes, with a penalty from Colm Whelan doubling their advantage.

The win was sealed by a third from Ross Tierney in a statement win by Alan Reynolds side.

Graham Burke and Matthew Healy scored late goals for Stephen Bradley's side, but Bohemians remain top of the table on 10 points.

In a busy night of action, Derry City came back from two goals down against Waterford to win 4-2.

First-half goals from Jorgen Voilas and Tom Lonergan gave Waterford the lead at half-time.

Two goals from Michael Duffy brought them level, as Derry scored two further goals in added time, with Dipo Akunyemi putting Tiernan Lynch's side in front before Duffy completed his hat-trick.

Drogheda United ended a difficult week with a 2-1 defeat at home to Shelbourne.

Brandon Kavanagh gave Drogheda the lead after just six minutes, but Shelbourne turned it around in the second half, with goals from Sam Bone and Henry Wood giving Joey O'Brien's side the win.

At Richmond Park, St Patrick's Athletic were the big winners as they defeated Dundalk 4-0.

Romal Palmer, Sean Hoare, Zack Elbouzedi, and Aidan Kenna scored the goals for Stephen Kenny's side.

In the final game of the night, Galway United defeated Sligo Rovers 1-0, with the goal coming from Jimmy Keohane after 19 minutes.
