Venus Williams marries Andrea Preti on ‘happiest, most beautiful, sweetest day’

US tennis star Venus Williams has married actor Andrea Preti in a second wedding held across five days in Palm Beach, Florida.
Williams, who has won seven grand slams and is the sister of tennis champion Serena, said she met her now husband at the Gucci show during Milan Fashion Week.
She told Vogue magazine: “After our dates in London, I just knew I was going to marry him. People always say they just know, and I just knew.”
The couple got engaged on January 31st, 2025, in Tuscany and their first wedding was on September 18 in Ischia, Italy, according to the publication.
Williams said: “We had this dream to do our wedding in Italy. But we didn’t have enough time to do the paperwork – because I’m a foreigner, it can take about eight months. So we decided to have a second wedding.”
The couple tied the knot this past weekend, and started the celebrations the Monday prior when “10 to 12 of our closest family and friends” celebrated on a yacht, gifted to them by Serena.
“We love welcoming people into our home every single day, and everyone was eager to have fun with us. It was the Italians and the Americans all together,” Williams said.
On Tuesday the bridal shower took place on the back patio of the couple’s home, and Williams said her bridal party danced to Beyonce.
On Wednesday their closest family and friends went to Miami for a dinner at the members’ club Sopra, upstairs at the Forte dei Marmi restaurant, then, on Thursday, they held a sports day, with volleyball, tennis, dodgeball, wheelbarrow races, and pickleball.
On Friday the couple had their courthouse wedding and Williams wore a dress by Morilee New York.
“I wanted to wear a dress that I thought Andrea would love and that was magical and perfect for a Florida wedding,” Williams said.
Reflecting on the day, she added: “It was just the happiest, most beautiful, sweetest day.”
Preti is an actor and producer who was born in Denmark and spent most of his childhood there before moving to Italy.
The couple shared photos of their wedding to Instagram, with Venus wearing a variety of white dresses across the five-day celebration.
