Scotstown have qualified for the semi-finals of the Ulster club football championship.

In Connacht, Galway's Moycullen beat Shamrock Gaels of Sligo by 1-20 to 1-9 to advance to the last four.


Kilkenny's Ballyhale Shamrocks are safely through to the Leinster club hurling semi-finals.

They beat Kilcormac Killoughey of Offaly by 25 points to 1-18 at Nowlan Park.

Elsewhere, Laois club Clough Ballacolla were 2-16 to 20 points winners over Castletown Geoghegan of Westmeath.

Naas of Kildare beat Mount Leinster Rangers of Carlow by 2-17 to 1-17.

Reigning Leinster and All-Ireland champions Na Fianna are currently in action - their meeting with Wexford's St Martin's is all square at 1-9 to 12 points in the early stages of the second half.


Reigning All-Ireland ladies club football champions Kilkerrin-Clonberne of Galway beat St Brigid's of Roscommon by 3-21 to nine points to retain the Connacht title this afternoon.

In the Leinster decider, Kilmacud Crokes of Dublin beat Tinahely from Wicklow by 5-13 to 1-8 to secure a fourth successive provincial crown.

Golf

Aaron Rai has won golf's Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship after overcoming fellow Englishman Tommy Fleetwood in a play-off.

The pair were level on 25-under-par at the end of the final round, but Rai took victory with a birdie at the first play-off hole.

Rory McIlroy finished one shot behind them, while Shane Lowry ended the week on 19-under-par.

Tom McKibbin was back on three under.
