American runner Daniel Mesfin has won the men's race of the Irish Life Dublin Marathon in a time of 2:08.51.

Eebbissee Addunyaa of Ethiopia won the women's race with a time of 2:26.28.

Limerick’s Ava Crean and Waterford man David McGlynn are this year’s Dublin Marathon Irish champions.

A total of 22,500 runners took part in the 42 kilometre race in cool temperatures and light rain today.

Thousands of supporters lined the route, despite the difficult conditions, to encourage the runners on.
