Premier League

It's goalless between Arsenal and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League's lunchtime game.

Ange Postecoglou is taking charge of Forest for the first time, while Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard has been forced off injured in the first-half at the Emirates.

Later Newcastle play for the first time since the departure of Alexander Isak when they host Wolves, and Jack Grealish will come up against his former club when Aston Villa travel to Everton.

Fulham host Leeds, Brighton play Bournemouth and Sunderland go to Crystal Palace.

There's a derby between rivals Tottenham and West Ham at 5.30pm.

While Brentford will hand new signing Reiss Nelson a debut tonight in their west London derby with Chelsea.

He joined on-loan from Arsenal on deadline day.

Women's FAI Cup

A place in the Women's FAI Cup final is up for grabs this afternoon with Bohemians taking on Treaty United.

Shelbourne can move to within a point of Women's National League leaders Athlone Town, if they win at home to DLR Waves.

Athletics

Both Sarah Healy and Sophie O’Sullivan won their way through the heats of the 1,500 metres at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

In the first evening session inside a packed-out National Stadium, together they also lifted the Irish mood, after the mixed relay quartet were unable to advance from their heat in Saturday’s morning session.

Sharlene Mawdsley said "mistakes" cost the Irish mixed relay team a place in the final.

The team of Mawdsley, Jack Raftery, Sophie Becker and Conor Kelly were sixth in their heat and failed to progress in Tokyo.

Mullingar's Oisin Lane marked his first World Championships with a top 30 finish in the men's 35km race walk.

Golf

Tom McKibbin is now five shots behind leader Hideki Matsuyama on day three of golf's BMW PGA Championship.

The Down man is seven-under-par through six holes with Japan's Matsuyama just about to tee off at Wentworth.

Shane Lowry is six-under-par out on course with Rory McIlroy four-under midway through his round.

Rugby

New Zealand have suffered their biggest-ever Test rugby defeat, losing 43-10 to South Africa in Wellington.

The World champions scored six tries and 36 unanswered second-half points in the rout.

Argentina beat Australia by two-points this morning and all four teams now have two wins and two losses after four rounds of matches.

Racing

The Aidan O'Brien-trained Delacroix will look to get back to winning ways at Leopardstown this afternoon.

He'll be ridden by Christophe Soumillon in the Group One Irish Champion Stakes on the first day of Champions Weekend.

Boxing

Aoife O'Rourke and Patsy Joyce will be through the ropes for semi-finals at the World Boxing Championships this afternoon.

Roscommon's O'Rourke goes up against Wang Lina of China in the 75kg division.

While Westmeath teenager Joyce faces Spain's Rafael Serrano in the 55kg semis.
