Shamrock Rovers have taken a major step towards qualification for the Europa Conference League after beating Ballkani of Kosovo 4-0.

The goals for the Hoops came from Rory Gaffney, who scored twice, Joshua Honohan, and Graham Burke.

Ballkani were leading 1-0 on aggregate going into the second leg.

Earlier, St Patrick's Athletic lost 3-2 to Besiktas.

The Saints took a 2-0 lead in the first half of their second leg against Besiktas, but lost 3-2 on the night in Istanbul to go out 7-3 over the two legs.
