16-year-old Michael Noonan scored for Shamrock Rovers on his debut for the team.

His goal in the 57th minute was decisive in the Dublin side's UEFA Conference League clash against Norwegian team Molde on Thursday evening.

Shamrock Rovers will take the 1-0 win with them to the second-leg clash on Thursday, February 20th.

Molde went down to 10 men with Valdemar Lund sent off after being shown a straight red card in the 42nd minute.

Four of the Hoops' new signing made their debut appearances this evening, including Noonan.

Ahead of the game, Noonan's teammate Aaron McEneff said the youngster "doesn't play football like a 16-year-old".

"It's a massive occasion. It's brilliant for Michael. He's fitted in very well in the group. I'm buzzing for him. Hopefully he can hit the ground running."
