Manchester United's FA Cup defence will continue with a home tie against Leicester.

The holders needed a penalty shootout to progress to the fourth round with a 5-3 victory after their tie at Arsenal ended 1-all after extra-time.

Newcastle will go for a place in the last-16 at Birmingham after coming from behind to win 3-1 against Bromley.

Tottenham needed extra-time to get past Tamworth 3-nil in the third round and will face a trip to Aston Villa next, while Plymouth's reward for knocking out Brentford is a home game against Liverpool.

Rangers have cut the gap to the top of the Scottish Premiership table this evening.

A 3-1 win at home to St Johnstone means they are 15 points behind rivals Celtic with 22 games played.

Rugby

Leinster took the win and the bragging rights from France after beating La Rochelle in the Investec Champions Cup this evening.

Joe McCarthy's try proved to be the difference as the Blues bested their recent rivals by 16 points to 14.

It leaves Leo Cullen's men top of pool 2 and continues their unbeaten run this season.

The captain lead from the front as he guided the Cork side to a three point victory over Galway's Tynagh-Abbey-Duniry in Croke Park this afternoon.
