Andrew Coscoran is through to the final of the men's 1500m at the European Athletics Championships in Rome.

The 27-year-old finished fifth in Monday's semi-final to progress to Wednesday's final, but Nick Griggs missed out.

Phil Healy's fifth placed finish in the heats of the women's 200m was also not enough to advance.

Earlier, Louise Shanahan was in action the 800m heats, placing sixth in a time of 2:04.81, while Thomas Barr came home in third in the semi-final of the 400m hurdles.

On Monday evening, Rhasidat Adeleke and Sharlene Mawdsley will both run in the women's 400 metres final.
