Gardaí probing motive behind arson attack on house in Limerick

Gardaí are investigating a motive for a petrol bomb attack on a house located on the outskirts of Limerick City Centre.
The firebombing occurred at a residence at Lenihan Avenue, Prospect, around 4am last Tuesday.
Several units from the Limerick City Fire Service attended the blaze and spent an hour putting the fire out.
The house, which was destroyed in the fire, was not occupied at the time.
A garda spokesman said: “Gardaí responded to reports of criminal damage by fire at a residential property in Limerick City, Tuesday 25th August 2026, at approximately 4:00am.”
"Investigations are ongoing,” he said.
