A man's been arrested after a Garda operation in Galway city led to two cryptocurrency accounts worth around $900,000 being frozen.

The operation on Wednesday saw two properties searched, a bank account worth €25,000 frozen, as well as cash, cannabis and amphetamine seized.

Gardaí arrested a man in his 40s, who has since been charged.

He is due before Galway District Court on Thursday morning.
