A man and a woman have been arrested regarding an investigation into several burglaries in south Dublin.

The arrested man and woman, both aged in their 40s, are currently detained under Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in South Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing.

Operation Thor was launched in November 2015 to detect and prevent incidents of burglary and associated criminal activity by undertaking targeted enforcement and preventative activity.

Gardaí said the initiative continues to have a positive impact on the reduction of property-related crime in Irish communities.
