Plans lodged to overhaul Victoria Secrets store into beauty products retailer

Plans have been lodged with Dublin City Council for a makeover of the Victoria Secrets outlet on Grafton Street to make way for "a premium beauty retailer specialising in prestige skincare, cosmetics, fragrance and wellness products”.

American lingerie brand, Victoria Secrets is moving from its flagship Irish store from 28/29 Grafton Street to retail units 1 and 2 at 40-43 Nassau Street.

The owner of 28/29 Grafton Street, businessman, Eamon Waters’s Huntstown Bioenergy UC, has lodged companion planning applications with the city council for the overhaul of Victoria Secret’s Grafton Street, including upgrades to the shopfront.

One application by the Waters Sretaw firm is for the change of use of the premises to one for the sale of cosmetics and beauty products, and the second relates solely to proposed upgrades to the existing shopfront and façade at ground-floor level.

The planning documents do not name the ‘prestige’ skincare and cosmetics firm, but it was reported in May that the new occupier is to be luxury beauty brand, Space NK, relocating from its current, smaller premises at 82 Grafton Street.

The move by the US-owned Space NK to open its flagship Irish store on Grafton Street follows soaring revenues at its Irish business, where revenues more than doubled here to £7.23 million (€8.4 million) in the 12 months to the end of March 2025.

Dublin City Council is due to make decisions on the applications in September.
