Slievenamon wildfires enter into fifth day as two aerial support units in use

Crews continued to monitor the wildfire on Slievenamon overnight. The blaze on the South Tipperary Mountain is entering its fifth day.
Tipperary County Council is reiterating there is no immediate threat to life.
Two units of aerial support will aid the operation on Friday on the Co Tipperary Mountain
The wildfire has now spread to the north-east of the mountain.
Carol Kennedy, acting senior assistant chief fire officer for Tipperary, says that is where the focus will be: "So this morning we've done a recon of the area."
"We've had civil defence in with a thermal imaging drone that we can identify hot spots and target those."
"We're seeing a much bigger development on the north-east side. We're going to concentrate on that this morning with our aerial support and our men on the ground."
Tipperary County Council is once again urging the public to continue avoiding the area, and to keep the River Anner at Thorny Bridge clear, which is being used as a water source.
