JD Sports reissues thousand of 'expired' vouchers to Irish customers

JD Sports is reissuing around 5,604 vouchers to Irish customers who were wrongly told the gift cards had expired.

The company has sold these online since 2019, applying its British policy to Irish customers.

Under Irish consumer law, all gift cards should be valid for five years after sale.

The move by JD Sports comes after a lengthy period of engagement with the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC).

Customers who were sold vouchers with the shorter expiry will be offered a replacement gift card to the remaining value that was on the card when it expired.
