A cyclist has died in hospital following a crash in Kilkenny.

Gardaí said a car was involved in the incident on the L100 Tullaroan Road, Loughmacask, at around 5.30pm on Wednesday.

“A male cyclist (aged in his 30s) was conveyed to St Luke’s General Hospital and subsequently Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries,” they said.

“He was pronounced deceased yesterday evening, Saturday, June 27th 2026.

“A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.”
