Gardaí are investigating a stabbing of a boy in Limerick city centre.

The youth was attacked at Parnell Street, around 5.45pm on Friday evening.

He was rushed to University Hospital Limerick where his condition was understood to be stable.

A garda spokesman said: “Gardaí are investigating an incident of assault that occurred on Parnell Street, Limerick yesterday evening, Friday 12th June 2026.”

“A male juvenile teen was taken to University Hospital to be treated for injuries believed to be non-life threatening.”

The spokesman said Garda enquiries into the attack were “ongoing”.
