Ciss Maddens has reopened its outdoor seating area, just weeks after Dublin City Council revoked its license.

The bar on Drury Street has faced complaints from retailers over footpaths being blocked by groups socialising.

The outdoor area was reopened on Friday, after confirmation that the license has been renewed.

Customers speaking to Newstalk said it provides a community for people.

"We were first in line and there was already a line of people behind us waiting for it to open," one woman said.

"It builds a bit of a community around the place. It makes the streets nicer to walk around and there's just a nicer vibe around the city," another customer said.

"When you're on holiday you see like people having fun and socialising. There's a lack of it in Dublin right now and it's so lovely that we are able to be out here today," added a third.
