A man in his 40s was arrested in connection with the incident and is currently being detained at a Garda Station in the North Western Region.

A man has been arrested after gardaí seized €360,000 of cannabis in Castlebar, Co Mayo, on Monday.

Gardaí stopped and searched a car, where 18 kg of suspected illegal cannabis with an approximate value of €360,000 was seized.

A man in his 40s was arrested in connection with the incident and is currently being detained at a Garda Station in the North Western Region.

The drugs seized are subject to further analysis.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
